Practical change starts here
Good for your pocket. Better for our planet.
Solent Remade CIC supports repair, reuse, recycling and active travel. Through ShareHavant, we help our neighbours make more of the things already around us.
From a favourite jacket to a troublesome toaster, bring your item to Repair Café Havant. Our volunteers will take a look, talk you through it and do their best to help.

We believe a more resourceful community starts with what we already have. Even our home has a reuse story.
In 2022, an unused former taxi office at Havant railway station began a new life with Solent Remade. South Western Railway offered the space at a peppercorn rent, and volunteers helped turn it into a community hub.
Today, The Old Parcels Office is home to the Library of Things and a base for local repair and reuse projects. Solent Remade is a Community Interest Company, run for community benefit, with no shareholders.
Come as you are. We’ll help you find a way forward.
Do I need to book a repair?
No booking is needed. Come to a Repair Café session with your item between 10am and 12.30pm. If you’re unsure whether we can help, email repairs@sharehavant.org.uk first, ideally with a photo.
How much does a repair cost?
There are no fixed repair prices. Donations of what you can afford help cover the hall, insurance and other running costs. Cash and card donations are accepted.
Can you fix everything?
We’ll do our best, but a fix isn’t guaranteed. We can’t take on petrol-powered equipment, microwaves, mobile phones, valuable antiques or items you can’t carry in. Read the full repair guidance before your visit.
How do I borrow from the Library of Things?
Join online for free, agree to the borrowing terms, then reserve an item in the catalogue and collect it during opening hours. The catalogue lists suggested donations for a week’s borrowing. If that amount doesn’t work for you, discuss a donation you can manage.
Do I need repair skills to volunteer?
No. There are roles in welcoming visitors, refreshments, lending items, administration and publicity as well as practical repairs. Tell us what you enjoy and how much time you can offer.
